REWARD Society was started in the year 1995 by a team of social minded youths who had interest of uplifting the downtrodden community in the rural and urban of Villupuram District in Tamil Nadu. When the team went into the field of community development; they noticed the pathetic situation of the women folk. This group's socio economic status and literacy level was poor and they were treated secondary to the male sectors who are always dominating the women folk in the society.

REWARD Society team came to a decision to a handle woman folk as its target group and community, its services towards women in the rural and urban that is living below poverty line.
In this direction, a series of development activities were taken to uplift the women folk. So far, we have established more than 2544 SHGs covering number of 35,000 women members in this District having a savings of a sum of `. 5,25,24,000. Appreciating our sincere work REWARD Society has been placed an approved NGO under Mahalir Thittam and Business Facilitator (Entity) by the State Bank of India in Villupuram District and issued certificates to this effect.

+ To conduct training programmes for children, youth, men and women conducting self defense attitude training for women and child folk to prevent them against any violence.
+ To create awareness about the civil rights and social responsibilities among people through legal education and to provide legal aid to people deprived of their civil rights and liberties.

+ To develop self esteem for the rural youth, provide career guidance and conduct bridge courses for the drop outs.
+ To establish a study and to conduct research on the socio economic and cultural condition of the people.
+ To implement educational programmes like, adult education, non-formal education, worker's education, remedial education, coaching classes and holiday study camps for children.
+ To organize and run skill training programmes to young men and women so that they can start income generating enterprises and self help ventures.
+ To organize integrated child development programmes like Pre School, nutrition programmes, Crèche etc.
+ To organize small saving programmes and to mobilize initially available resources Namely people's abilities, skills, knowledge and monetary contributions in order to organize training cum production units of various small scale industries and Co-operatives.
+ To provide scholarships for needy school children and emergency relief in times of urgent need as during calamities and accidents.
